Gohar Martirosyan

Gohar Martirosyan is a filmmaker, co-founder, and artistic director of the Gurban art platform and the Ground Art Fest, which focus on site-specific artistic approaches.
Using archival footage and technological processes, her video installations provide alternative access to otherwise inaccessible locations. Challenging traditional presentations in conventional art spaces, Gohar also "returns" to sites that have played significant roles in history, such as Mount Aragats in Armenia, the Mush district in Gyumri, Armenia, and more.
The work Inaccessible Depths, presented as part of the Un Week-end à l’Est program, explores the formation of identity through the complex relationships we maintain with controversial spaces, the environment, and territories, questioning and blurring the boundaries between personal biography and geography.
