4 MONTHS, 3 WEEKS AND 2 DAYS (4 Luni, 3 Săptămâni și 2 Zile)
In 1987, Romania, a few years before the fall of communism, Otilia and Gabita share a room in a university dormitory in a small town. Gabita is pregnant, and abortion is a crime. The two young women turn to a certain Mr. Bebe to solve the problem. But they were not prepared for such an ordeal... With this film, Cristian Mungiu won the Palme d’or at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival.
"At the heart of Mungiu’s film is the lie, the conditioning of men by fear, betrayal, corruption, laxity, etc. In short, everything that constitutes a tyranny. It is to the credit of this young Romanian filmmaker that he managed to convey so much in so little action."
— Jean-Baptiste Morain, Les Inrockuptibles
In the presence of the filmmaker, the screening will be followed by a discussion moderated by Antoine Guillot (France Culture).
