Małgorzata Lebda is a writer, researcher, photographer and ultra-marathon runner (in 2021, she ran 1,113 kilometres along the Vistula as part of a poetic activism project entitled ‘Reading Water’). Born in Poland in 1985, she has published eight collections of poetry, for which she has received numerous awards. Vorace (translated into French by. Lydia Waleryszak, Noir sur Blanc, 2026), her first novel, was hailed in Poland as the ‘literary discovery of the year’. For Dunaj. Chyłe pola (2025), she was awarded the Kościelski Prize, following in the footsteps of Mrożek, Stasiuk and Tokarczuk. Małgorzata Lebda lives with human and non-human beings in the mountainous region of the Beskids.
