Zbigniew Preisner (born in 1955) is Poland’s greatest film composer and is regarded as one of the most outstanding film composers of his generation. For many years, he worked closely with the director Krzysztof Kieślowski and his screenwriter Krzysztof Piesiewicz. His scores for Kieślowski’s films – Without End, The Decalogue, The Double Life of Véronique, Three Colours: Blue, Three Colours: White and Three Colours: Red – have brought him international acclaim.
He has received numerous prestigious awards and nominations, including two Golden Globe nominations, three Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards, two Césars, the Royal Television Society Craft and Design Award, the Silver Bear and the Grand Prix at the Brazilian Film Festival.
